PHILOSOPHY Practically - Whenever I see a colour field piece by Yves Klein or Ellsworth Kelly I want to touch it or even mark it - just a little something. Which is why I resorted to this work - to produce a uniform colour, then add a small amount of a different colour. The yellow adds movement to the red. Philosophically - There are times when I feel strong to the point of wanting to break through a wall or run up a steep hill - something that would give me satisfaction, and at the same time that great sense of accomplishment. It does not have to be a grand task - just something that will produce a positive end. Unfortunately I do not think that I could force my way into the soulful realm. It is just that I sometimes have a powerful urge to do so. |
