Part of the Window Series - experiments with minimal use of paint and calmative decorative style

Philosophy

Practically - This image was inspired by an old woodcut depicting a monk (or saint) crawling out of this world and entering another. Just the thought of separation moves me to paint the veil like white over the blue.

Philosophically - The point at which two worlds meet ... the gossamer veil is so prevelant in my present life. I see it as a great potential in that moment when time is finally concluded - and only the enigmatic continuance of eternal purity remains.
