The Most Painters of One Picture!

Here is a crazy but amazing idea ... Produce the largest collaborative piece of abstract art! ... In fact produce it by one million artists!!

This is the concept that Eugene Pik originally came up with last October. Then, with the help of Canadian programmer Anthony Barker, they created www.millionartists.com. And now as the news spreads, more and more people are hearing about it - liking it - and then taking an active part in it ... realizing the different creative and artistic opportunities this project offers. For it has all the potential to become a world famous image being shown throughout the planet. ... It also has the makings of a Turner Prize entry. And I am sure there may well be many other exciting prospects too.

But this project is not at all exclusive ... you don't actually have to be an artist to take part.

All you have to do is select a colour of your own choice and apply it to one pixel. The coloured pixel is then randomly added to the picture. It is at this point I think the participant may begin to feel an irresistible desire to return, again and again, to check up and see how the picture - their picture - is evolving. It is no accident that this is exactly what an artist experiences each time they produce a work of art ... so that means all participants may gain an invaluable incite into the enigmatic thoughts and feelings of a practicing artist. Now that is what I call a truly unique and worthwhile opportunity for everyone and anyone to grab. Then once this fascinating project is complete there will be an abstract image of one million different coloured pixels chosen by one million different types of people ... different classes, different races, different ages, different creeds ...

But that is not all ...

The money obtained to produce the work (each artist is asked to pay just $1 or more for taking part) will be donated to specific world class medical charities ... which means that at least one million dollars will be raised! However, already people have begun to give more than just the initial $1 to these causes so the potential is there for an even greater amount to be raised. And each participating artist will receive the kudos of taking part in breaking the world record "The Most Painters of One Picture" ... which will then be permanently recorded in the Guinness Book of Records. ... And anyone who has their own website can advertise the fact by linking to their listed name ... and I can say (from personal experience) that even having such a link has begun to bring an increasing number of curious visitors to my website.

It will be very interesting to look at the continuing evolution of this world picture, and then to see what exactly will happen with the finished piece.
