Surrealism experiment with pencils

Philosophy

Practically - After having spent quite a time drawing preparatory sketches I proceeded with a light drawing in graphite, and slowly worked into this work with both graphite and coloured pencils.

Philosophically - This is one of four strange pictures - blessings from the corners of the earth, which point toward one of the human privileges of life. In this case it is the ability of utterance.
